A frog resting partially submerged in dark water on a large green leaf, with its face and eye reflected in the still water below.

A Quiet Moment

This frog had found what looked like the perfect place to rest—a large leaf floating just at the surface of the water.

What I love most about this photograph is the reflection. The water was calm enough to create a second little frog beneath the surface, while everything around it disappeared almost completely into the darkness.

For a moment, it was just the frog, the leaf and its reflection. Quiet, still, and completely undisturbed.

A green grasshopper perched on top of a tripod head, illuminated by warm sunlight against a softly blurred green and pink background.

My Little Assistant

Apparently, I wasn't the only photographer out that day.

This little grasshopper had chosen my tripod as the perfect place to take a break. Sitting right on top of the tripod head, it looked almost as if it was checking my equipment—or perhaps waiting for its turn behind the camera.

I couldn't resist taking a photograph. After all, it's not every day that the wildlife comes to inspect the photographer instead of the other way around.

A single black, spiny caterpillar crawling across rough wood, with a bright starburst of sunlight and a white feather softly blurred in the background.

Into the Light

A tiny caterpillar making its way across the rough surface of the wood.

What caught my attention was the contrast between its dark, spiky body and the warm light surrounding it. Behind it, the sunlight created a beautiful starburst, while a small white feather caught the light in the background.

A goldfish swimming through dark green water, surrounded by circular ripples catching the light, with another fish blurred in the foreground.

Ripples

The water was almost completely dark, hiding what was moving beneath the surface.

Then a goldfish appeared, briefly catching the light as it swam through the green reflections. With every movement, new circles spread across the water, growing wider until they slowly disappeared again.

For a moment, the darkness of the pond was filled with light and movement.
